THE CANDELA GENTLE MAX PRO
Often called the Rolls Royce of laser hair removal, the Candela Gentle Max Pro sets the gold standard for laser hair removal. It is an innovative piece of technology which successfully combines two lasers; the Alexandrite laser for light skin types and the Nd: YAG laser for dark skin types. WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Laser Hair Removal is the most effective way to permanently remove excess hair and can be used almost anywhere on the face and body. Unwanted hair can be irritating and unpleasant. Unlike other methods such as waxing and shaving, laser hair removal gives long lasting results and permanent hair reduction. The hair will become finer and softer meaning less visible, and the growth will slow down more and more with each treatment.
The way it works is simple. Light is absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The laser’s light energy heats the pigment and destroys the hair follicle. It only affects the specific structures of the hair and follicle, leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.

Dynamic Cooling Device
We use Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) that sprays a fine mist of cryogen with each laser pulse. This device minimizes pain, protects the skin and enables the laser energy to gently reach and treat hair follicles. Unwanted body hair is safely removed without damaging the delicate pores and structure of the skin.
Preparation
Shave
Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment.
No Wax
Do not wax in the 4 weeks leading up to your appointment as pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective.
Avoid direct sunlight
Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for minimum 2-4 weeks prior to your treatment and always protect the skin with sunscreen.

Aftercare
There may be some mild heat and redness in areas that have been treated.
Things to avoid:
For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing, or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers, and tight restrictive clothing.
Avoid direct sunlight.
Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for a minimum 2 – 4 weeks after your treatment and always use 50+ sunscreen to protect the skin and maintain results.
Hair will begin to shed after a few weeks.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-Shave treatment area at least 12-24 hours prior to your treatment.
-Avoid chemical peels or laser resurfacing treatments at least 4 weeks before your treatment.
-Exfoliate the treatment area at least 3 days before your treatment.
-Ensure all fake tan is removed and there is no residual fake tan present on the skin 24 hours before your treatment.
-Allow 4 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had direct sun exposure. (Any kind of tanning or active sunbathing, with or without SPF). Allow 2 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had incidental sun exposure (stayed in the shade for most of the time during sunny periods, with or without SPF on).
-Avoid using topical creams, moisturisers, body oils, colognes or perfumes to the area being treated 24 hours prior to treatment.
-Do not wax, use depilatory creams or pluck hairs four weeks prior to laser treatment.
Depending on the hair, skin type, and body area being treated, you will require treatments between 4-6 weeks intervals. Each part of the face and body have a different hair grown cycle, so hair reduction will vary depending on what stage your hair follicles are in at the time of the treatment.
After each treatment hair is reduced hence it is important to complete the course of 6-8 treatments and at consistent intervals for best results. We recommend a course of treatments and maintenance treatments every 2-3 months for permanent hair reduction up to 95%.
One of the benefits of Laser Hair Removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. We use an advanced cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort.

Based on current medical advice, we are unable to perform laser hair removal during pregnancy.
No, unfortunately, we cannot treat over tattoos or moles. We can treat around these areas with a gap of 3cm.
